You are the star in the sky
To guide me through the night
I give you my hope
To bring me to light

You're the flower in the field
You're the spice in that patch
Bringing colors and beauty
No others can match

You're the beat in the song
That one little thing
That picks up the tempo
And gives it a swing

The happiness on a bad day
The cool waters flowing with the wave
The smiling face in a strange crowd
The bright sun shining through a cloud

You're what life is lived for.

Very brilliant my brother...although I must say, the fact that you changed your pattern for the last stanza is a bit annoying. Is there a meaning behind it or could you not think of anything that rhymes with wave that fit too? Over all good job...very peaceful vibe. I like it alot.

It's supposed to keep reiterating the same point, but with less of the description

"Brilliant?" This is pretty bad.

It ought to be illegal for an artist to marry. If the artist must marry let him find someone more interested in art, or his art, or the artist part of him, than in him. After which let them take tea together three times a week.

I hate it when any schmo can write poetry...mine sucks. This is okay, but nothing sticks out...it kinda sounds like a crappy love song.

Sorry to be brutal, but it's true.

surprisingly, non taken. I don't claim to be a master at poetry (like that guy ^), but I just try it out once in a while.

Yeah, sometimes it's good to let it out. I hate over-cirts, like above mentioned. You never said it was le best....
